Long Reach, MD is one of ten villages (and the largest) comprising Columbia, Maryland. Started in 1971, it is one of the oldest villages, and comprises four neighborhoods: Jeffers Hill, Kendall Ridge, Locust Park, and Phelps Luck.
Another village inspired by literature; many of the village's streets take their names from the works of Robinson Jeffers, after whom the Jeffers Hill neighborhood is named.
The village is governed by the Long Reach Community Association, Inc., dedicated to being a community resource for its residents.
While developing and planning the village of Long Reach, MD, its citizens were dedicated to preserving their land and valued open space; which makes this village unique.
